Fifty moons drift in the black
Milkyway glows in the back
A steady stream of ice and rock
Hundreds of rings
Whirling beneath me
I look back toward the sun and see
All the planets faintly flickering
All this beauty makes me stop and think
Of when we arrive
At the end of time
Caught up in this orbit I see
Everywhere that I’ve been, laid out before me
Now I know that you had a plan
Even when I couldn’t see it then
If I could just get over the brink
Of always putting myself, before everyone else
It seems that I am still prone to think
This universe revolves around me
Amazed by this colossal disc
And everything that goes into it
Like the debris that makes up Saturn’s rings
I’m just one small piece
In the grand scheme of things
Caught up in this orbit I see
Everywhere that I’ve been, laid out before me
Now I know that you had a plan
Even when I couldn’t see it then
If I could just get over the brink
Of always putting myself, before everyone else
It seems that I am still prone to think
This universe revolves around me
